Merle’s story is one of unexpected beginnings and the start of something much bigger. When we received a call from a neighbor about a stray dog who had shown up on their porch and was at risk of being attacked by nearby dogs, we couldn’t ignore it. At the time, dogs and cats weren’t part of our mission, but Merle showed us the immense need for support for animals in our remote area.

Whether he’s chasing Moonpie, relaxing with Ritzy, or riding shotgun with me on errands, Merle fills every moment with joy.
