At ArtPlace Mississippi, we dare you to be different, to think outside the box, to discover your inner artist. We believe that creativity is massively abundant in Mississippi, that you are never too old to learn, and you can be a catalyst for change. We use the creative process and hands on art experiences to change people's lives.

ArtPlace was founded in 1991 to provide art as a dropout prevention program. Over the years, the arts proved to be the best tool in engaging students. As funding for in-school arts programming has declined, ArtPlace's outreach has increased to include: early learning academies, alternative schools, public schools, after-school programs, senior centers, public events, and at our downtown headquarters in Greenwood, Mississippi.

ArtPlace's LEAP program, Leflore Early Arts Project, is early childhood development arts program that provides free art classes to local pre-kindergarden programs, day cares, nursey schools in Leflore County. LEAP also includes a Saturday morning Art Club for working families. Sparking creativity and joy through exploration is a critical skill for young developing minds. We are looking to expand the LEAP program into the public grade schools in 2024.
