MMIA Operation Rescue Christmas

Operation Rescue Christmas, an initiative within our Fill the Footlocker program, provides new unwrapped toys, clothes, gifts, and gift cards to the families of active-duty military and veterans who need assistance during the holiday season.

MMIA is able to assist these families through gift donations or by providing gifts using donated funds. The MMIA community of donors, year after year continues to amaze us with their generous donations, and we truly appreciate it. Please, if you can, help us make a child's Christmas wish come true!

In 2023, we were able to raise over $15,000, which allowed us to deliver 3,467 gifts to 251 military families. With your support, we provided a smile to faces from 3 military bases, 17 cities, and 15 counties across North Carolina.

We'd like to share a story from last year's Operation Rescue Christmas efforts:

Family #34 
    Single mom.    
    Homeless.
    Charlotte Area.

This single mom referred by Unite US was living in a hotel when MMIA first spoke with her. She told us she was being evicted due to lack of payment and would “probably be living under a bridge” when it came time for MMIA to deliver her gifts. We advised her we would reach out closer to Christmas to see if she had a new address we could deliver to.

We reached out to her several times and finally heard back from her on the 16th of December. She Could not tell us where she was but asked that we deliver her gifts to a church in Charlotte and the Pastor’s wife would see to it she received them.

We received an email from this mom on Christmas morning. She is now in a shelter and wanted to send me a picture of her son’s gifts!  She was so very appreciative.   This is the impact MMIA makes in the lives of veterans and their families.
