He’ll also share how local governments are supporting organics recycling through policies and incentives, and how these community-level actions can grow into long-term, scalable solutions.

This conversation will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how composting works, the challenges and opportunities for organics recycling in Florida, and how turning food waste into compost supports healthier soils and more resilient communities. 🌱

Meet the Speaker

Charlie Pioli is the Founder of O-Town Compost, a leader in Central Florida’s organics recycling and composting movement. Through education, innovation, and advocacy, Charlie works to reduce food waste, improve compost quality, and expand access to sustainable waste solutions across Central Florida.

His work emphasizes collaboration between residents, businesses, and local governments to create practical, scalable systems that keep organic materials out of landfills and return nutrients back to the soil.
