OUTLoud Inc. Marathon County LGBTQ Center WILL BE A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that works towards a future where LGBTQ individuals are accepted, valued, and celebrated for who they are. Supportive environments, such as schools, families, and communities, can provide a sense of safety and belonging, which is crucial for LGBTQ youth to thrive.

 

The United States has witnessed a disturbing rise in anti-LGBTQ rhetoric in recent years. The consequences of this rhetoric are far-reaching, creating a climate of fear and anxiety for LGBTQ people, hindering their access to equal opportunities, and ultimately undermining the progress made towards inclusivity and acceptance.

Wisconsin, and specifically Marathon County, have not been immune to the effects.

The Marathon County Life Report is a data-driven depiction about the quality of life in Marathon County. This report showed that our kids are in trouble. Specifically, our LGBTQ kids, due to an increase in the rhetoric and mistreatment, are significantly at risk for anxiety, depression, and suicide.

• A physical space full of color, light, and love where LGBTQ individuals can connect, participate in social activities, and find resources.

• Support groups, educational workshops, and access to mentors who understand their unique challenges.

• Strong young people with the skills and confidence to thrive in a world that may not always be accepting.
