Help us raise 1.3 M in ‘23 to revive Middle Way House's The RISE!

Help replace the original, 1997, ELEVATOR at The RISE! This model of elevators are no longer manufactured or sold. The RISE! is Middle Way House's Transitional Housing Program; a 4-story, 28 unit apartment building that must remain ADA compliant and accessible. Since 1997 The RISE! has kept 597 families safe.

In 2023 we want to strengthen the mission, and more importantly the ability to do the work to achieve the mission, of supporting all survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Financial support, first and foremost, gives the not-for-profit Middle Way House Team safe and secure locations to meet with Survivors, provide emergency shelter, and answer crisis calls on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis. Financial support also provides trauma informed child-care classrooms and confidential areas for Legal Advocates to meet with Survivors. The RISE!, a 28-unit transitional housing apartment building, must have ongoing financial support. Without The RISE! 28 families would be houseless or in danger from continuing to live with an abuser.

Current windows installed in 1997 at The RISE! have wood frames. Per the quote provided from community partner Equity Builders of Bloomington there are 220 double-hung windows that will have removable screens, ProSolar Low E Glass, energy efficiency, rot resistance and a warranty. There are also 10 ground-level windows that will be fixed. The cost is $497,797.11 NOT including painting of interior drywall work or trims or framing.

Strengthening Foundations is a revival of the capital portion of the Caring Campaign launched in 2021. The Caring Campaign covered all aspects of organizational needs. With new leadership and a complete Administrative Team it was decided to focus on the immediate capital needs and investment opportunity through the Endowment with the Community Foundation.
