Women Who Shine of Washington State was founded by Leilani Miller, Danvonique Reed, and Ehmandah Ramsey out of a shared desire to create a space where Black women in Snohomish County and surrounding communities could be seen, heard, and celebrated.

What began as an annual gala celebrating the brilliance of Black women has grown into a year-round community rooted in connection, growth, and empowerment. The gala remains a cornerstone of our work—an elevated evening where we honor excellence, leadership, and the impact of Black women across our region.

Beyond celebration, our mission extends into meaningful action. Through scholarships for young women and well-being seed support for Black women, we invest in education, stability, and personal growth. We also offer biannual cohorts, workshops, and experiences designed to support the whole woman, helping participants develop clarity, confidence, and courage as they design the vision for their lives.

Women Who Shine of Washington State believes every woman has the power to shine brightly, live authentically, and make a lasting impact. Through celebration, community, and tangible support, we equip women to own their shine and step forward with purpose.
