The 2022 annual report from the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office indicated that there were 252 instances of cardiopulmonary resuscitation [CPR] in Winnebago County, IL and 182 of those were dispatcher-assisted where a bystander was on the scene first. Statistics show that marginalized communities suffer from greater rates of health-related illnesses partly due to the availability of resources.

KSF's pilot CPR Voucher Program will further the diversity, equity, and inclusion mission of KSF by eliminating the cost of programming for families that already qualify for state assistance. Eliminating this barrier can directly disrupt this trend, bringing life-saving skills to communities historically excluded and largely impacted by trauma.

The CPR Voucher Program will provide up to 250 low-income residents with free lifesaving Health and Safety Institute [HSI] CPR certification through KSF in Rockford, IL.
