SonHaven Greenhouse Project

The SonHaven Greenhouse Project is part of our Stewardship Initiatives. It is focused on developing sustainable growing systems that combine food production, water stewardship, and hands-on learning.

This project will begin with a pilot aquaponic greenhouse designed to test and refine how we grow food using integrated systems. Aquaponics uses fish, water circulation, and plant systems working together to create a self-sustaining environment. Our approach builds on this foundation by exploring improvements in water usage, filtration, and growing methods.

In addition to standard aquaponic systems, we are planning to incorporate expanded growing mediums that allow for a wider range of crops, including root vegetables. We are also exploring advanced water treatment and filtration approaches that may improve both system efficiency and overall growing conditions.

The pilot greenhouse will serve as a learning and development environment, a place to test, adjust, and understand what works before expanding further. The long-term goal is to build two full-scale aquaponic greenhouses on the property. These larger systems will support ongoing food production, provide hands-on training opportunities, and demonstrate practical models for sustainable and regenerative living.

Our goal for this project is $50,000, which will go toward materials, infrastructure, system components, and the development of both the pilot and full-scale greenhouses. This is about learning how to work with living systems in a way that is sustainable, repeatable, and responsible.

Each contribution helps move this project from concept to working system, one that can be learned from, built upon, and shared with others over time.
