Louie is a big guy with an even bigger heart. Rescued from the Future Farmers of America program, Louie’s story is one of second chances. When the time came for the family to send him off to slaughter, they couldn’t bear to part with him. They had fallen in love with Louie, but soon realized that caring for a 2,400-pound steer was more than they could manage. Thankfully, Rancho stepped in, and Louie has since made himself right at home!

Louie spends most of his days happily grazing alongside his best friend and partner, Angel. Together, they share a bond that’s heartwarming to see, and Louie takes great pride in keeping Angel well-groomed and looking her best. When he’s not keeping his friend company, Louie is living the good life with his favorite treats—extra hay and juicy oranges. (He’s a bit of a foodie!)

Louie’s also a sucker for head scratches. Don’t be startled if he nudges your hand with his massive head—this big boy’s just asking you to itch a little harder! When he’s not asking for head scratches, you’ll see him shaking his booty—he loves to treat himself to a t-post butt scratch!
