1,200 Meals: GHASD’s Franklin County Food Drive

Join us this Tuesday for the GHASD Food Drive.

Today, November 25, 2025, our mission is especially urgent. Recent federal cuts and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) delays have left thousands of families, seniors, and children in Franklin County with sharply reduced grocery budgets.

Many of these working families fall into the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) category and must choose between paying rent or buying food.

B. Our Goal: $5,000 for 1,200 Meals & Essential Dignity

We aim to raise $5,000 today to provide 1,200 nourishing meals and essential non-food supplies directly to households in need in Franklin County.

1. Bridge the SNAP Food Gap (The Crisis)

Recent federal changes have reduced the grocery purchasing power of local families. Your support enables GHASD to purchase and distribute high-protein staples such as rice, beans, chicken, and fresh produce, helping stabilize diets during this period of reduced income.

2. Fund Non-Food Essentials (The Dignity Gap)

SNAP benefits do not cover essential items for daily living. When benefits are reduced, families often spend their remaining funds on food, leaving nothing for other necessities.
