Open Minds Library

What is the Open Minds Library?

The Open Minds Library is the Michael H. Tillotson Foundation’s first program, bringing mental health resources where they are needed most. The program provides books to schools and Free Little Libraries around the country to increase access to age appropriate mental health educational materials.

What books are provided?

Currently, our first book is Stuff That Sucks by Ben Sedley, recommended for young adults aged 13 and up. In the future we hope to expand to provide multiple books aligned with our organization’s mission of creating awareness, comfort, and hope.

How can I support the Open Minds Library?

You can currently support the Open Minds Library by sponsoring a book! For just $20, you enable us to provide a book for a school or Free Little Library.

How can I request a book for my school?

We are currently accepting requests for books for schools from individuals associated with that school. If that’s you (yay!), please fill out this form

If you’d like to connect us to a teacher, administrator, or librarian at a school of your choice we would be happy to chat and discuss if their school is open to receiving one of our books.

We will do our best within our ability to accommodate all book requests and truly appreciate your enthusiasm for this program!

How can I recommend a new book?

We’d love to consider new books that align with our mission and talk about mental health content in a safe an age appropriate way. If you have a suggestion for our next book, share your recommendation with us at [email protected]
