Orange Road Quartet: '25-26 Annual Fund Drive

Orange Road Quartet
2025-2026 Annual Fund Drive

Help Orange Road raise $5000 to make 2026 the year of our dreams!

Friends, it’s been a fantastic year of collaboration and art making over at Orange Road Quartet. We enjoyed residencies at UC Davis and Duke, where we premiered a dozen works by today’s brilliant young composing students. We performed G.F. Haas’ 3rd string quartet entirely in the dark in a planetarium. We headlined the Mannes Chamber music festival with JACK quartet.  We premiered an otherworldly new film score by Amir Sanjari, premiered new work with Jazz piano legend Ethan Iverson, made our debut on Tribeca New Music and gave a return performance of Crumb’s Black Angels in South Carolina.  It’s been a year of intense exploration and wonder,pushing the boundaries of string quartet playing and giving audiences coast to coast something to enjoy and think about.

Now, with 2026 on the Horizon, Orange Road is ready to deliver our biggest year of exploration yet. Our debut on John Zorn’s “The Stone”, our debut record featuring our first composer cohort of “Tales from The Orange Road”, a follow up record featuring Black Angels and Ligeti 2, a tour in Spain, a crack at Morton Feldman’s six hour string quartet and a new call for scores initiative are just the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come next year!

Looking towards this momentous year, we are asking you, our Orange Road family, to help us raise $5000 dollars. This fund will help us with expenses related to our upcoming record (we are pressing vinyl!) as well as general operational support and our first Merch sale! ( yes, soon you’ll be able to represent the Orange Road everywhere you go!)

Any amount helps, and we are so thankful to have you on this journey with us. As thanks for your donation, we are excited to announce these reward tiers! Donating any amount within the following tiers will net you exclusive rewards! The tiers are as follows;

Dedicated to the performance of new works and modern classics, Orange Road creates exciting listener-centered musical spaces for curious audiences. The programs they develop in close interdisciplinary collaboration with composers connect art and audiences in ways beyond the traditional elite dominated concert hall, and leave people from all backgrounds with a transformative experience. Orange Road is the 2024-2026 Cuker and Stern Quartet in Residence at the Mannes School of Music where they receive mentorship from the JACK Quartet.

Recent season highlights include appearances at the South Carolina Chamber Music Festival, a return to the Southern Exposure Series where they played George Crumb’s Black Angels, and a performance of the Philip Glass score to Dracula with the legendary Michael Riesman.

Collaboration with composers is at the heart of Orange Road’s activities. Last season they had artistic residencies at UC Davis, University of Florida, and Duke University, where they premiered and recorded pieces by student composers. In 2022, Orange Road was awarded the first annual Whittaker Composition Commission and premiered the work at the University of South Carolina in the 2022-2023 season, when they were also invited to participate in the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music Program. Each member of Orange Road was paired with a composer and a singer in a multi-faceted project working on the composition and performance of four new pieces centered around the modern human experience and global inequality.
