When Pierce Fitzgerald Norton passed away unexpectedly in January of 2024, he left a huge hole in the hearts of so many people. His absence has affected and been felt by no one more than his 7-year-old son, Pierce Salvatore.

Together, Nick Smith (Pierce's uncle!) and Leanne Goff will run the 2026 Boston Marathon in honor of Pierce! They will be running with the Boston Police Department's Runner's Club in hopes to raise funds for Pierce Salvatore, with all proceeds going directly to his schooling, family expenses and hockey.

Pierce Fitzgerald was a South Boston Native who played many roles in his 38 years of life - hockey player, Providence College & Thayer Academy graduate, and a Boston Police Officer. His family has lived in South Boston for generations and his parents, Maureen and Larry Norton, raised 4 children here. We are excited to continue his legacy through fundraising efforts and events in his memory in the upcoming months!
