Join us in a vibrant celebration of Charleston's rich history, dynamic present, and the bright future promised by its people through two exciting art projects at the Archer School Apartments. This initiative not only includes the creation of a stunning painting in collaboration with the talented Alexandria Searles, known artistically as Morowa Mosai, but also embarks on an ambitious journey to capture the essence of Archer's legacy through the Portraits of Promise project.

The mural project aims to transform the community room into a canvas that tells the story of the Eastside community's legacy, resilience, and beauty. Paying homage to local historical figures like the trailblazing educator Septima Poinsette Clark and the renowned ironworker Phillip Simmons, it captures the essence of significant landmarks and the spirited culture of Charleston. It's a beacon of community pride, a tribute to the past, and an inspiration for the future.

Parallelly, the Portraits of Promise project seeks to honor the personal histories and achievements of former Archer School students. We will be inviting alumni back to Archer to be photographed, capturing their essence and framing these portraits on the walls of the school. This initiative not only celebrates the individual journeys of Archer's alumni but also serves as an ongoing inspiration to current and future residents of the Archer School Apartments, reminding them of the legacy and potential that walks the halls of Archer.
