Help contribute to legal fees for VCU student arrested for pro-Palestinian speech!

On April 29th, 2025 -- the one year anniversary of the VCU Encampment -- a VCU student was arrested by VCUPD and charged with "trespassing," all while simply holding a sign criticizing VCU admin’s and VCUPD’s brutal and militarized repression of pro-Palestinian activism on campus.

This student is now in urgent need of financial assistance with their legal defense, as they face months of court proceedings to come. Initially, the student needed to raise $2,500. However, thanks to a generous $500 donation from Richmond Community Legal Fund, the student now needs $2,000 (with their additional need referenced in the update above, this total need is now $4,000). SJP VCU is calling on the VCU and Richmond community to financially support this brave student who stood on the side of Palestine.
