The Why:

Founded in 2011, ICT SOS has been at the forefront of engaging the community in combating trafficking and exploitation through powerful partnerships with professional organizations

What began as a grassroots movement rapidly evolved into a thriving 501c3 nonprofit, moving from modest offices above Mead's Corner Coffee Shop to the Child Advocacy Center, and now to its own space in the Arena District on South Emporia.

Building on years of growth and community impact, ICT SOS now has an opportunity to expand and create Our Place—a space designed specifically to welcome survivors and support their journey.

The new location will add approximately 7,800 square feet to ICT SOS’s current facilities, enhancing the ability to provide comprehensive, trauma-informed services for survivors.

The Need:

Last year, ICT SOS served 61 clients through our Advocacy Program. With the new building, we anticipate supporting over 100 clients in the first year—a projected increase of approximately 64%. This expansion will enable us to extend our services and support more survivors annually.

Last year, ICT SOS served 380 individuals through our Fresh Start and Clean Start programs. With the new building, we anticipate serving over 500 individuals in the first year, a projected increase of approximately 32%. This significant growth is made possible by the doubling of our Fresh Start space, allowing us to expand our services and reach more people in need

Last year, our Education program reached 6,595 individuals. With the new building, we will be able to expand our community education offerings, including parent classes. This expansion will increase our capacity to raise awareness and strengthen prevention efforts throughout the community.

The Community Support:

Hutton Development generously purchased the building, and Meritrust Credit Union has offered a below-market loan rate to make this project possible. The building will be leased to ICT SOS at a below-market rate, ensuring sustainability as we move forward. The funds raised will be used to remodel the building to create a space that meets the needs of survivors and the organization's growing needs, with future growth in mind. This includes planning for sustainability, additional staffing, and additional services. We are so grateful for their generosity and support in helping us create this vital resource for our community.
