OurSpace was started in 2011 by the grandson of a sharecropper. Our work supports Black cooperators and educates and trains those of the Black Diaspora in the skills of growing food, basic ecological building, and community organizing. We understand that access to local, healthy food is essential. But it's not just about food. It's about community, commitment, and having a stake in designing what the future of local food access is for all of us.

Our Food • Our Freedom is our latest initiative to support Black farmers and food producers and investing in local food system infrastructure, now and in the future. We support those who do Black Food and those who nurture Black Futures.

As our farmers are facing more challenges than ever to feed their families and their communities, keep their land, and continue their work, Our Food • Our Freedom is how we respond — together.

Any donation will allow us to continue to support our community of farmers and staff. A sustained donation may support the following:

$16 monthly puts a new trowel in a farmer's hands

$20 monthly provides one hour of farm support

$50 provides a farmer with 1:1 technical assistance with a specialist

$100 monthly welcomes you into the Freedom Fighter Brigade with an insider subscription to our internal newsletter

$750 supports a Teach22 Camp EarthPact Leadership Trainee for one week

$1000 supports farm start-up costs

$1500 supports an on-farm trainee for two weeks
