At Chess Cardinals, we strongly believe that every young child should play chess. Chess provides invaluable cognitive benefits, enhances memory and focus, and fosters creativity. One way we motivate kids to participate and improve is by awarding them trophies as prizes.

We hold a three-round chess tournament every Thursday night, and the entry fee is only $2 per player. We believe that chess should be accessible to all, so we strive to keep our tournaments as affordable as possible. However, this means that the funds generated from entry fees are not enough to purchase trophies. To continue providing this incentive for the kids, we are requesting everyone to contribute to the Chess Cardinals Trophy Fund, with a goal of raising $1,200 for the upcoming year.

Every month, we will run a "Thursday Grand Prix" that is based on all the "Thursday tournaments" of that month. We will award points to players based on their improved skills and participation, and we will also give trophies to the top female players and the most dedicated players. A spreadsheet is used to track the players and award trophies, and the link is available for public view. (link for public view)
