With you support, we will continue providing healthy, delicious meals to our neighbors at risk for hunger in a dignified, welcoming and inclusive experience.

WHO

The Community Table of Rockbridge (TCT) serves as a bridge between those at risk of hunger in Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County, Virginia and compassionate individuals who are willing to lend a helping hand.

WHAT

The heart of The Community Table's mission is to provide a welcoming and dignified environment where individuals and families can enjoy meals without the stigma often associated with traditional "soup kitchen" models. In essence, we offer a true community gathering place where all are welcome, regardless of need, hence the name, "The Community Table."

Each week, TCT volunteers serve approximately 200 meals using food sourced from various partners, including W&L Campus Kitchen, Lexington Catering, Sweet Treats, Kenney’s, JJ’s Meat Shak, Hogback Mountain, and Globowl. In 2024, we provided more than 11,400 meals, underscoring our commitment to tackling food insecurity in our region.

We are also deeply appreciative of the local churches that generously provide desserts, adding warmth and sweetness to every meal. These include Manly Memorial Baptist Church, Lexington Presbyterian Church, St. John's United Methodist Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grace Presbyterian Church, Grace Episcopal Church, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Rockbridge). Their partnership reflects the spirit of compassion that makes this community so special.

HOW

Perhaps the most inspiring aspect of TCT is the dedicated team of volunteers who power this organization. Volunteers not only help in the kitchen but also serve meals and take on various other responsibilities, ensuring the seamless week-to-week operation of the restaurant. Their selfless dedication is a testament to the strong sense of community that TCT fosters.

In order to sustain and expand our efforts, TCT relies heavily on financial support from generous donors.
