What do you love about the library? I call it “my” library for a reason. When I walk through the doors, which is frequently, I am greeted with warmth, often by name. I love that Tim’s office is right next to the Hold Shelf, so I can say a quick hello. The staff is not only friendly, but helpful.
What do you wish people knew about the library? I think people think of libraries as simply a place to check out books. I wish more people could see that a library can be the heart of a community—where people meet with a common interest or cause, where people are tutored, where people can find a quiet space to read, work, and think.
Why are libraries important to you? The library is important to me because I can find books to read for pleasure and for research. As an author, I check out children’s books all the time, exposing my brain to wonderful mentor texts. The library is a tremendous educational resource for me.
