Last summer, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at Camp PALS — a place where volunteers are partnered one-on-one with a person with Down syndrome for a week of living, learning, and having fun together. It was a very welcoming, genuine, and joyful environment where everyone belonged. Whether we were playing games, doing activities, or just hanging out, every moment was filled with connection and laughter. Being part of this community opened my eyes to the importance of inclusion and friendship in a way that has stuck with me long after camp ended. This year, I’m fundraising to help make Camp PALS possible for even more people. Donations help provide travel assistance, financial aid, university housing, meals, and unforgettable experiences for both participants and volunteers.
