PAHC COVID-19 Relief Benefit Concert

This year’s benefit concert will raise funds for Filipino communities affected by COVID-19 in the Philippines and in the Bay Area. To do this, we are partnering with three organizations:

The Balikbayanihan Project: A student-led initiative aiming to provide direct financial relief to individuals and families in the Philippines who have been impacted by COVID-19. Since July 2020, The Balikbayanihan Project has raised over $5000 and provided aid to ~300 individuals and families who needed financial support in meeting their medical, academic, and/or basic needs.

Mabuhay Health Center: The Mabuhay Health Center (MHC) is a University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) student-run free community health clinic targeting underserved Filipino-American residents of San Francisco’s South of Market (SOMA) District. During the COVID-19 pandemic, MHC aims to augment primary care by providing Telehealth services every second Saturday of each month, wellness calls to patients, and referrals to community resources. These services are supplemented with health education presentations that are streamed online, and open for everyone as a resource.

Filipino Community Center: The Filipino Community Center (FCC) is a grassroots organization based in San Francisco that aims to provide a safe space for Filipino families, where they can access services, receive support, and build community. During these times of COVID-19, they are focused on partnering with the National Alliance for Filipino Concern (NAFCON) to support their community through the Bayanihan Response Program. In this program, they are partnering with other local organizations and restaurants across San Francisco to provide meals and groceries to families that are more vulnerable to the consequences of COVID-19 in their local community, as well as providing relief for communities in the Philippines affected by Super Typhoon Goni.
