These are difficult times, especially for our LGBTQIA+ family & friends.

There is a lot of hate and the world can feel uninviting and unsafe, leading to despair, isolation, and loneliness.

One of PFLAG Skagit's biggest goals for 2026 is to help facilitate SAFE Community gatherings that are affirming, inclusive, and welcoming. Right now, there are two major projects of focus:

--PFLAG Hub Project - We will be creating online and "City-specific" spaces where all the area activities related to the LGBTQIA+ community can be posted. The goal is to have a location where everyone can go to find community activities and support. We will partner with area Queer-lead/Queer-focused groups, Queer-owned/Queer-friendly Businesses, and individuals to make this happen.

--PRIDE & Joy Crafting & Gaming Groups - These are groups that meet once-a-month in safe, "3rd Spaces" where LGBTQIA+ people, their friends, family, and allies can come together for a much needed break to let have some fun and be themselves.

There are many ways you can help!

You can donate to our projects by following the attached link/QR code
You can donate ITEMS to the PRIDE & Joy Group. We Need the following on a regular basis:
1. Water Bottles
2. Arts & Craft Supplies (Beading, Button Maker supplies, various art supplies, etc)
3. Pre-packaged Snacks & Treats
4. Games
5. Portable storage holders with handles
You can volunteer to help. We need:
1. People in Anacortes, Concrete, and in the Valley area who are willing to run one of the PRIDE & Joy Groups per QUARTER. We make it as easy as possible!
2. Event Planners
3. People to monitor and add to the Event Calendar
4. Web/IT help
5. Community Members who can be locations for drop-off of books and donations

There's lots of ways to help - and joining with us has the added benefit of YOU being in community with us!
