New Yorkers for Neighbors
Join a growing network of New Yorkers investing in the future of public housing communities. Your support helps bring vital programs to life—from workforce training and youth leadership to community health and the transformation of open spaces into vibrant, welcoming places for all. Together, we’re building a more equitable city—one neighbor, one block, one green space at a time.
At the Public Housing Community Fund, “being a good neighbor” isn’t a slogan, it’s a practice. It looks like early-morning food distributions by dedicated community leaders, late-night mural painting by local artists, transforming green spaces with talented gardeners, last-minute deliveries when a partner is short-staffed, and the thousands of small acts of care that keep public housing communities strong. This is the New York we know and love!
Each day, residents of our public housing rise to the occasion. They are the unsung heroes of our city. They roll up their sleeves to fight every day for safer, healthier, more connected neighborhoods, and make sure communities that hold this city together are not forgotten. And at the Public Housing Community Fund, we are with them every step of the way.
This holiday season, we’re inviting you to be part of that work through New Yorkers for Neighbors, our campaign rooted in one simple belief: when public housing residents thrive, New York City thrives.
NYCHA is home to more than 520,000 New Yorkers, nearly one in 17, across all five boroughs. Public housing residents in our city are essential workers, caretakers, creators, and change-makers. Your partnership strengthens education, leadership development opportunities, workforce training, community health, and improved public spaces, the building blocks of stability, dignity, and opportunity.
If you believe in a city where we don’t look away from one another — we look out for one another — then this is your moment to help build that future.
