Alternative House provides emergency shelter, support, youth programming, legal assistance, transitional and permanent housing, and community advocacy to people affected by domestic violence across the Merrimack Valley. Services include case management and safety planning combined with support around goal-setting, financial empowerment, and job/educational placement. So far in 2023, Alternative House has served more than 800 clients, placed about 70 individuals in housing programs, answered 400+ hotline calls, and provided almost 1,100 hours of advocacy.

Domestic violence affects people across all genders, races, and ages. By helping fill a welcome basket, make a shelter room more like home, or clothe a child, you make a difficult time a bit easier.
