Ramon Wallace's Story

While breast cancer is often associated with women, it's crucial to remember that men can also develop this disease.

In fact, male breast cancer cases have been on the rise, with a 25% increase from 1975 to 2018. This year alone, an estimated 530 men will lose their lives to breast cancer in the United States.

Some facts about male breast cancer:

  1. Men with a family history of breast cancer, particularly in a first-degree relative (parent, child, or sibling), are at higher risk.
  2. Men with inherited mutations in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes are at increased risk of breast cancer.
  3. The 5-year survival rate for men with breast cancer is about 84%, compared to 90% for women.
  4. Men are more likely to die from breast cancer than women, perhaps due to delays in diagnosis and treatment.

By participating in the Pink Ribbon Row, we aim to shed light on this often-overlooked aspect of breast cancer and support all individuals affected by this disease. Your contribution will help fund vital research, patient support services, and education programs that benefit both women and men in their fight against breast cancer.

Please join us in making a difference. Every stroke we take and every dollar we raise brings us closer to a world without breast cancer.

Together, we can row towards a brighter, healthier future for all.
