PRFG End of Year Giving

We can’t believe it is already December and we are just weeks away from 2025! 

To everyone who donated, bought merch, attended events, supported the Wish Lists, entered the photo contest/bought calendars, supported the donor matching event, participate in monthly giving and company match programs… THANK YOU for making 2024 merrier for rescue pugs in need.

2024 BY THE NUMBERS: 

- Medical expenses: $285,000 - the most we have ever spent on medical care in a single year. 

-175 pugs and pug mixes saved (27 more than 2023 and the most in one year since 2019)

- We currently have 10 Long Term Care pugs who will remain in rescue for the rest of their lives and need ongoing veterinary care, medications and supplies.

-133 adoptions with 5 more planning to be completed before the end of the year.

Since we specialize in pugs, we take on bigger medical cases than some other non-breed specific rescues and we want to make sure that every pug is ready to start the next phase of their life.

This year our pugs have needed:

-Orthopedic surgeries (knee, hip, ankle)
-Eye surgeries (entropion and enucleation)
-Emergency surgeries for pyometra, tumors, bladder stones and intestinal blockages
-Specialist consults and treatments at UGA and UF (Neurology, Opthamology, Cardiology)
-Dentals for more than 75% of our foster pugs
-Heartworm treatment for 5 pugs
-Spay and Neuters plus basic care such as vaccines. 

Our mission is to give pugs in need a safe, healthy, and happy future. Werescue, rehabilitate, and rehome pugs from surrenders, shelters and other unsafe situations, ensuring they receive the love and care they deserve.

Since 2003, we have been known as Pug Rescue of Florida, a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization, 
EIN: 14-1866385. In 2021, we obtained our license as an official Georgia foster-based rescue organization and are now officially recognized as Pug Rescue of Florida & Georgia (PRFG). All donations are 100% tax deductible.
