We're producing the first episode of our original musical Bridges and our '25-26 school tour is underway! The show is written, produced, and performed by high school students from 20 Philly area schools along with industry professionals in songwriting, production, arranging, and theatre.
The story follows a group of high school music students navigating race, identity, and belonging and reflects the student-writers' real experiences in their schools. With a powerful mix of original songs, dialogue, and interactive storytelling, Bridges school performances are a fresh way to help young people feel seen/validated and to engage in difficult but necessary conversations. The show is coupled with workshops in songwriting, production, poetry, racial literacy, and drama as we invite students from our audiences to get involved in writing the next episode..
Our goal is for school funding not to be a barrier- and your donation will allow us to visit schools who can't afford to cover our production costs (performer stipends, travel, facilitators, etc.)
Philly Sound Exchange connects high school musicians and producers from city and suburban schools for original music projects that reflect their varied identities. From stage productions to media projects, we use the power of sound to connect, uplift, and inspire change.
