After nearly 3 decades of service, a sudden loss of funding in 2016 forced Asha Family Services, Inc. - Wisconsin's first culturally specific domestic and sexualized violence prevention agency serving Milwaukee's African American community-to temporarily close its independent operations. Through the support of the state coalitiion, End Domestic Abuse WI, Asha was able to continue vital victim services in Milwaukee under their umbrella. Now, after several transitional years of determination and healing, we've reclaimed our nonprofit status and restored Asha's independent foundation with prescribed support from the Coalition to Advance Public Safety (CAPS).  But...restoration is just the beginning.

We need your help to strengthen what we've always done best:

*Provide cullturally grounded, trauma informed care for survivors of domestic and sexual violence

*Support families with children affected by interpersonal and community violence

*Expand emotional de-escalation and accountability services for men who use violence

*Ensure safety, housing and holistic healing through tailored survivor-centered support
