Our neighbors told us they found their pet at PWP and we had never adopted a pet before, we searched long and hard, then we found Babe! Sadly, she was an owner surrender and was a very frightened little girl! She was even adopted for one day and they brought her back the next day - they said she was too afraid! Babe actually bit my leg the first day we met her in person - I cried all the way home and said she was not right for us. We went to see her again and she was just so frightened, it was very sad, I wasn’t sure if we would adopt her after all. My husband went to see her several times for weeks without me knowing and got to know her better. They called us and said they were comfortable with us taking her home, but she was being treated for ringworm. I said that is not a problem, i work for a dermatologist! So, they let us take her home after her treatment was finished, it was a very happy day . . . she has so much love to give and so do we! It took her weeks before she jumped into our bed and slept with us. We tried to change her name, but she likes her name “Babe” (and hope she wasn’t named after the movie Babe, but a lot of people think she looks like a little piggy!) Now, we have had her in our home for almost four years and she loves playing, sun bathing, belly rubs, hanging out with us when we go antiquing – loves riding in a wagon and riding in our car! She especially loves Saturdays when we spend the day snuggled up on our couch watching old westerns! She goes with us everywhere and whenever we can take her with us! We love, love, love this little girl!!! We are very fortunate that we found Pets Without Parents and support them as much as we can!
