Build With Us: Strengthening SHIFT's Foundation

You Already Know What Transformation Looks Like

It's the moment a parent finally gets heard.

It's the young person who walks taller, speaks more clearly, and leads stronger.

It's the community taking care of the community.

At Project X LB, we believe healing happens in person—not through apps, not through screens, but through showing up, listening, and building together.

Project X LB is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Long Beach families.

This campaign is about protecting that work.

Your $10,000 helps us strengthen the systems that support our people—without replacing human connection.

What SHIFT(Support • Heal • Inspire • Flourish • Transform) Does (In Real Life)

SHIFT isn't a curriculum you download. It's relationships, built face-to-face, in schools and community spaces across Long Beach.

For Youth (Middle & High School)

SHIFT creates space where young people can:

  • Name their feelings and practice responding instead of reacting

  • Build healthier friendships and repair when things go wrong

  • Step into leadership—at school, at home, in the community

  • See themselves as contributors, not problems

What parents are telling us:

"My daughter came home and actually talked to me. She said SHIFT made her feel safe."

"He's not perfect, but now he pauses. He thinks before he acts."

 For Parents & Caregivers

SHIFT for parents is built on one truth: You are not just here to be helped—you are leaders.

We create space for caregivers to:

  • Understand child development and what's normal (even when it feels hard)

  • Advocate for your child in schools and systems

  • Connect personal growth to collective power

  • Build with other parents who get it

What parents are saying:

"I didn't know I could speak up at my son's IEP meeting. SHIFT showed me I have a voice."

"I'm not just surviving anymore. I'm building something for my family."

Why This Campaign Matters

The work is strong. The relationships are real.

But the behind-the-scenes systems haven't kept pace.

Right now:

  • Sessions are coordinated manually across texts, emails, and spreadsheets

  • Tracking who shows up and what's working takes time away from being present

  • Growing to serve more families means we need stronger infrastructure—fast

Without stronger systems, even the best in-person programs risk burnout, bottlenecks, and missed moments.

What You're Funding

Your support doesn't create distance between us and the people we serve. It creates capacity to show up better.

$10,000 Investment Breakdown

 Systems & Capacity Training — $3,500

Training for staff to:

  • Coordinate programming across schools without losing track

  • Document participation securely and respectfully

  • Track impact without turning relationships into numbers

 Focused Build Period — $4,000

Three months of living support to focus full-time on building these systems. This ensures:

  • Systems are designed around real workflows, not corporate templates

  • Quality and consistency of facilitation stay strong

  • We don't burn out the people doing the work

 Program Support Systems — $2,500

Tools to support:

SHIFT Youth Programming

  • Track attendance and session notes without disrupting trust

  • Document leadership growth and celebrate milestones

  • Ensure continuity when youth move between schools or cohorts

SHIFT Parent Leadership

  • Organize curriculum and advocacy resources

  • Connect parents across sites for shared learning

Internal Learning Dashboard

  • Help facilitators see what's working and adapt in real time

  • Build evidence for funders without treating people like data points

What Success Looks Like

Months 1–2: Foundation Core systems are built and tested with current cohorts.

Milestone: Youth and parent sessions run smoothly with clear, consistent coordination.

Months 3–4: Integration Systems fully support SHIFT across multiple schools and community sites.

Milestone: Communication and follow-up improve. Staff feel supported, not stretched

Months 5–6: Sustainability Staff and community leaders are trained to maintain systems long-term.

Milestone: We're serving 3x more families without sacrificing relational care.

Our Promise to You

SHIFT will always be:

  • In person, not online

  • Relationship-centered, not transactional

  • Community-led, not top-down

  • Healing-focused, not compliance-driven

This campaign ensures the systems behind the work are as strong as the people doing it.

What Donors Are Asking (And What We're Saying)

"Is this for online programs?"

No. All SHIFT programming happens in person. This funding builds the systems that allow in-person work to be coordinated, sustained, and scaled without burnout.

"Isn't this just overhead?"

This is program infrastructure, not general overhead. These systems directly support youth and parent programming—they reduce administrative strain and increase access.

Think of it like this: You wouldn't ask a nurse to treat patients and build the hospital scheduling system. This investment ensures our facilitators can focus on people, not paperwork.

"Why not just do more sessions?"

Strong systems protect session quality. Without them, staff burn out and access becomes limited. This investment ensures in-person programming stays strong as it grows.

"Who actually benefits?"

  • Middle and high school youth in SHIFT

  • Parents and caregivers building leadership skills

  • Facilitators delivering consistent, high-quality programming

  • Schools and communities partnering with PXLB

  • The next family who walks through the door and gets the care they deserve

"How will you measure impact?"

Through participation tracking, facilitator reflection, and outcome data—designed to support learning and growth, not surveillance.

We'll measure:

  • Session attendance and engagement

  • Youth leadership milestones

  • Parent advocacy outcomes

  • Facilitator capacity and sustainability

All tracked in ways that honor relationships.

SHIFT changes lives because it's built on presence, trust, and care.

We're not asking you to fix us. We're inviting you to build with us.

Ready to Invest in What Works?

SHIFT is proven. SHIFT is needed. SHIFT is ready to grow.

But growth without infrastructure leads to burnout. And burnout means fewer families get care.

Your gift today ensures SHIFT stays strong—for the youth, parents, and community we serve.

Give Monthly. Build Long-Term.

Let's Build This Together

Because the young person who learns to lead today becomes the neighbor who shows up tomorrow.

Because the parent who finds their voice becomes the advocate who changes systems.

Because community doesn't happen by accident—it happens when we invest in what works.

Invest in SHIFT. Invest in people. Invest in long-term transformation.
