Friends of the Peter A Krusch Nature Preserve - Adjacent Property Acquisition Project

Our joint campaign with the Vermont Land Trust is complete!

We are deeply grateful to all of our sponsors and donors for their generous support for this succesful campaign.

We hope to complete the purchase of the 30 acres by mid 2026. This land acquisition will expand the town-owned Krusch Preserve to 80 acres as well as connect to the Cambridge Village Wellhead property allowing for additional trails.

The town’s Peter A. Krusch Nature Preserve Committee will start work on the trails and signage once the purchase is complete.

For reference, The project description information brochure is at this link.
Note that the Vermont Land Trust is not accepting further donations to this project.

The Friends of the PAKNPis a charitable organization (under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code) set up for the purpose of acquiring appropriate land contiguous to the Town of Cambridge-owned Peter A Krusch Nature Preserve, with the intention of donating the lands to the Town to add to the existing Krusch Preserve, under the direction of a Board of Directors. The Town is committed to the Preserve, but currently cannot be involved in purchasing more land. This new nonprofit organization has been established for the purpose of purchasing-or establishing viewshed easements- on adjacent land.

Donations to the Friends of the PAKNP are tax deductible to the full extent allowable by law. Donations go towards supporting the Board’s efforts to acquire by purchase,or establish viewshed easements, on appropriate neighboring properties.
