A Taste for Reading 2021
Wednesday at 12:00 PM PDT
Join special guest Martellus Bennett and others as Page Ahead launches our fourth decade of work on behalf of kids, reading, and educational equity. Learn about where we've been, where we're going, and how YOU can make a difference in a child's life.
Were you able to join us for the live event? It was so much fun! We heard from educators, kids, and Martellus Bennett was interviewed by Val Thomas-Matson.
All gifts of $360+ (including $30/month recurring gifts) will be matched by our generous sponsors and partners. If we reach our goal of $230,000, that will cover the costs of putting 12 books each in the homes of 5,111 Washington kids who really need them—can we count on your help?

Guided by the fact that literacy is essential to lifelong success, Page Ahead provides new books and develops reading activities that empower at-risk children. Founded in 1990, Page Ahead Children’s Literacy Program has given more than 3.5 million new books to more than 950,000 children through collaborations with schools, social service agencies, preschools, and early childhood programs across Washington. Through our programs, we work to erase the early reading gap for underresourced children before it becomes an “achievement” gap. Page Ahead has grown from a King County book giveaway project to the leading provider of children’s books and literacy services in the state, currently serving more than 20,000 students in eighteen counties, and a top-ranked early childhood education program nationwide on Charity Navigator.
