My name is Saira Malik and I am a 17 year-old Pakistani-American. In August of 2022, disastrous floods displaced over 50 million individuals in Pakistan, destroying tens of thousands of public schools across the country. Having been fortunate enough to receive a quality education and experience the opportunities that come with it, I believe it is my duty to extend a helping hand to those whose lives have been upended by this natural disaster. Our goal is to reestablish non-operational schools and bring them to fruition in highly flood-affected areas. Below are images of a school in Sindh which has recently undergone external reconstruction, but still requires fundamental necessities such as desks, chalkboards, solar panels, and etcetera.
Although the primary objective is to restore functionality to numerous schools that have been devastated in Pakistan, this is the initial stage. For future reference, we plan to implement technological advancements such as computers. With your help and generosity, we can make a difference and inspire a generation to rise above adversity through the power of education. Every child deserves a chance to learn, to dream, and to create a brighter future for themselves and their nation.
