We’re thrilled to share a new collaboration between Parkrose School District and Project Color Corps; a partnership centered on one powerful idea: color can change the world.

This spring, Project Color Corps will team up with Parkrose students to transform an exterior school district building wall into a vibrant work of public art. The project will invite students to participate directly in the design and installation, turning an everyday surface into a shared expression of creativity, pride, and belonging. The project also involves a color seminar for the students, teaching them the impact color has on the environments around them.

Why this matters

When students take part in shaping their surroundings, something shifts. They develop a sense of ownership. They care more deeply. Spaces become not only more beautiful, but more welcoming, safe, and meaningful places to learn and grow.

Serving a diverse and dynamic community in Northeast Portland, Parkrose School District is deeply committed to fostering creativity, connection, and student engagement. This project offers students the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on their environment — and invites the broader community to be part of that transformation.
