The Outdoor Freedom Network (OFN) was established by Terry and Connie Sympson at Jackson Hill Marina in 2007 to create opportunities for Veterans and their families to enjoy the great outdoors on Lake Sam Rayburn in Deep East Texas. OFN does this by organizing, supporting, and promoting outdoor recreational therapy through our Patriots Challenge Program. Focusing attention on our Combat Veterans, and those under medical care for physical wounds, trauma, and depression recovery.

We discovered the amazing power that time in the outdoors and fishing have for trauma and depression recovery. The OFN program is considered an important part of the healing process. The OFN model is Fishing, Forest, Food, and Family. Our Patriots Challenge Events include:

• 1/2 Day Guided Fishing Trips for Veterans and their family. Drinks, bait, and fishing equipment included.
• 2 1/2 Day Therapy Adventure including two fishing trips, forest therapy and nature walk through Brigid's Wood. Lodging, breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
• Self guided park walking course and Brigid's Wood nature trail.
