What is PGA REACH?

PGA REACH Gulf States is the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the Gulf States PGA, dedicated to positively impacting youth, military, and diverse populations by providing access to PGA Professionals, PGA Sections, and the game of golf.

Military

PGA HOPE introduces golf to Veterans to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. The program introduces the game of golf through a developmental 4-6 week curriculum, taught by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military cultural competency.

Youth

We serve local youth by providing programs that support positive life/skill development and opportunities to learn and play the game. Currently, PGA REACH Gulf States has PGA Jr. League, and Golf in Schools Program as programs helping impact lives through golf.

Diversity

Under the inclusion pillar, PGA REACH Gulf States offers scholarship opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to participate in PGA Junior League.

What is PGA REACH Gulf States accomplishing in these 3 areas?

PGA HOPE Gulf States has grown from 2 programs and 4 sessions in 2022 to 25 schedule sessions at 12 sites in 2024. Local PGA professionals will impact 500+ Veterans through 2024 programming while some 20,000 will be reached nationally.

Our PGA Junior League participation continues to see growth and will reach some 500 youth this calendar year. We can provide scholarships to young boys and girls unable to afford programming costs.

Through a PGA WORKS Fellowship the Section Staff are mentoring an individual in the business of golf. This Fellow will experience all facets of golf administration and tournament operations, serving as first steps of a career in the golf business.
