Poppy & Stew 2025 Sponsorship

Poppy and Stew were the ones who started it all. The brother/sister duo came to us from a homesteading pork farm as piglets and have been with us since 2019. They are kunekune pigs, native to New Zealand and have extremely sociable and cuddly personalities. They love watermelon, belly rubs, and napping in the horse corrals. They both dislike having their hooves trimmed or their meals served late. They were both neutered and spayed so there are no chances for them to be bred for pork farms or any other purpose. This year they both came down with a respiratory infection brought on by a windy season-change and required veterinary care, antibiotics, and B12 vitamins. They have a world-traveling farrier who comes to trim their feet and tusks every 4-6 months, as veterinary and hoof care for non-livestock swine is very hard to come by around here. 

Monthly Feed Costs: $25 each in pot belly pig feed, $12 in treat, $50 in fresh produce/alfalfa hay

Farrier every 4-6 months: $150 each
