Planting A Seed, Growing OUR ROOTS

ROOTS Rugby Family, is an Afro-Centric rugby non-profit (501 c3) organization created for the purpose of helping to grow and show the rugby abilities of the African Diaspora. We have grown in our mission and are providing opportunities to other members of our BIPOC community. From playing, coaching, recruiting, media, social media and even managing we are looking to give all members of our rugby family a true chance to grow as an individual on and off the field; a platform they would normally not get from their local clubs and/schools.

We have traveled to London, Barbados, New York City, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tampa, Miami, Naples, Los Angeles, Colorado (Rugbytown) and Las Vegas. We've been crowned Champions at the London 9s, Carolina 9s, Las Vegas Aces Division, New York 7s Premier Division, Heritage Cup (Miami) and have been runners up in a number of these tournaments.

Each of these opportunities have been heavily funded by players and gear sales. Your tax-exempt donations not only reduce tour fees for many, it allows ROOTS to steadily grow the program off the field as well. Workshops, seminars, community service work are all a few of the opportunities we are looking to continue building upon in the coming months and are needed now more than ever. We do community service primarily in the New York City area, such as our sock and blanket drive for those in need. We've added on our Glove Giveaway, giving out over 50 pairs of free gloves for players at the last New York 7s tournament.

With a family of over 200 players and coaches, we want to continue reaching those that need opportunities and we are hoping the rugby community can help us achieve those goals! Remember to keep those receipts come tax season!
