Poco Sponsorship
Meet Poco! Poco was born on April 9, 2013. Poco is possibly an appendix gelding. We do not know what his father was but his mother is a TB. We can order a DNA kit if the potential adopter would like it done at their expense. Poco came to us as a little surprise in his mommy's belly. His story: We were contacted by the Houston Co Sheriff Department in 2012 about a horse that had been roaming for months. No one would claim her so we took her in. After her vet check, we realized she was pregnant. A sweet couple adopted her and could not wait to have a baby. Poco was born into a very loving family, he has attended the Pat Parelli colt starting program as well as the Auburn University colt starting program. Sadly, due to health problems, his family decided they could no longer provide care for him so he came back to the rescue. (Don't worry, his mom was adopted by someone else and she is living her best life!) Poco has never been started under saddle but we do currently have someone working with him. We hope to have him ready for the next step soon. Once he is considered adoptable, he will be adopted out with a 30 day training contract. (Meaning that his adoption fee will include 30 days at one of our trainer facilities.)
HOW DOES A SPONSORSHIP WORK?
You can choose to donate any amount each month. Our goal is to get his monthly bill of $121.50 covered each month by sponsors. 100% of your donation goes directly to the horses in our care. Our rescue is powered by amazing volunteers!
The sponsorship program is where an individual, business or group makes an annual or monthly gift which provides us with the support that allows us to continue rescuing horses and focus less on fundraising. Your commitment creates a happy ending for the shattered lives we rescue.
Sponsorship is for any business, group or person who wants to help save horses, ponies, donkeys or mules and can financially commit to providing an annual or monthly donation for a rescue’s care. Many of our rescues often require more medical attention than the average horse. Rescues may need months or even years, to return to health and rebuild their trust in humans.
Sponsorships make legendary gifts to give a friend or family member who loves horses. Give a sponsorship as a gift for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions. Sponsoring a rescue is a great way for groups and organizations such as schools, church groups and clubs, to support their community.
