Getting to We’s theater edutainment experiences don’t promise a perfect humanity... what we do promise are competency-building productions that lead to new ways of understanding and building social trust among diverse groups. Through these engaging, informative and substantive theatrical experiences we turn discomfort into learning, and tension into meaningful relationships. Our plays, on timely and important topics for advancing inclusion, belonging, and equity, have delivered on that kind of learning and change process with proven success.

TO MOUNT A NEW PLAY!

The God I Know is a community social trust project designed as Inclusion & Belonging Edutainment™ . The play explores the interface of personal and religious identity sparking meaningful conversations about religion in the public space, the intersection of religious liberty, freedom of speech and separation of church and state. This production is timely in its presentation as Christian Nationalism is actively being introduced in American democracy.

Christian Nationalism is a sociopolitical ideology that merges Christianity with national identity. Advocates believe that the United States should be defined by Christian values, culture, and institutions. This ideology intertwines religious beliefs with patriotic sentiments, often portraying dissent as unpatriotic or anti-Christian.

Understanding Christian Nationalism is critical for fostering an inclusive society that respects diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, and that upholds the separation of church and state. Recognizing its principles, applications, and implications can help mitigate its polarizing effects and promote unity among Americans of all beliefs. Our aim is to have meaningful, rich conversations about Christian Nationalism through the play's production and the post-show discussions. Your support will help us bring performances to audiences across the nation and to as many communities as we can!

The God I Know, as Inclusion & Belonging Edutainment™ helps people develop a Me to We Mindset and the Me to We Skill of Holding Multiple Identities, Realities, and Perspectives. These are important personal tools for building social trust and for turning us and them into WE by developing a Me to We Mindset and practicing Me to We Skills.

With a belief that we share a common humanity and should have respect for different religions and life approaches, we can foster a healthy democracy that works for everyone.

The God I Know Me to We Skill

Holding Multiple Identities, Realities, and Perspectives honors that in any given situation there are multiple ways of knowing and being. There are many expressions of Christianity and the God that people know and understand. There are many who practice other faith traditions or spiritual practices and those who are atheist or agnostic. Practicing this Me to We Skill allows one to fully and authentically practice one’s spiritual approach to life while respecting that others have the same right to believe or not believe what they want.

What Happens After the Performances?

Essential to each performance of The God I Know are several components: the post show discussion, the dissemination of resources and a printable pdf that provides a Christian Nationalism Explainer, a glossary of terms, and conversation starters to continue learning, growing, and building social trust in your communities and organizations.

Your Investment, Our Impact

As you know, ticket sales alone do not cover all costs of a theater production. Individual donors are needed to cover space rental; actor, director, choreographer, and stagehand fees; sound and lighting expenses; sets, costumes, props, music licenses, advertising; promotion and administrative expenses.

To My White Friends Who Know Me, an examination of race relations through the lens of cross-racial friendships supporting audiences to become advocates of “we” in the places where they live, work, worship, serve, and socialize. This play remains timely in our racialized and polarized society.

Beauty Shop, an enlightening cross-generational dialogue on gender, race, culture, and relationships emphasizing our core identity as humans. This play remains timely as women's rights are being challenged and interracial marriages increase.
