FoodRecovery.org works with with our fantastic partners, Gotham Food Pantry and Sharing Excess, to organize weekly produce drops to housing authorities in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan.
Since this program began, we’ve been able to provide more than 235,000 pounds of produce to six NYCHA buildings. This is fresh, surplus produce from the Hunts Point Produce Market, distributed by the NYCHA Tenant Associations to residents.
Special thanks to the Grubhub Community Fund for covering the transportation of this produce each week!
