“Menstrual health and hygiene management, when available to all, can help dismantle barriers and support adolescent girls to become healthy, educated, and empowered women,” said Kelly Ann Naylor, UNICEF Director of Water, Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) and Climate, Environment, Energy, and Disaster Risk Reduction (CEED). “Yet, until recently, little attention has been paid to defining, monitoring, and investing in menstrual health.”

Our campaign aims at donating 1000 sanitary pads to our menstruating girls at the Tarkwa Breman Girls' School, the female facilitators and mothers.

The community provides access to resources such as mature cocoa farms and uncultivated land, as well as labor in the form of community volunteers. The organization maintains an agro-campus, called the Tarkwa Breman Center of Excellence (TBCE), in the Western Region of Ghana. The TBCE includes a girls’ school, a health clinic, a community library, and several acres of cocoa farms. At the Center of Excellence, we are working to dismantle the systemic structures that trap rural farmers in cycles of generational poverty. Our team designs, implements, and evaluates interventions to address two key social determinants of health: access to quality healthcare and education.
