A donor-advised fund (DAF) is an investment account that you can use to make gifts to nonprofits that matter to you! DAFs offer an immediate tax benefit and the flexibility to support your preferred charities right away or over time.

• Keep it simple: Your DAF provider manages your record-keeping, disbursements (including an option for automatic disbursements), and tax receipts, giving you a single document during tax season.
• All the the timing: You can choose the timing of your contribution, including through automatic gifts on a schedule of your choice. Plus, when using a DAF, your contribution makes a big difference to the causes you care about, yet your cash flow is unaffected, since your DAF is already holding funds that you've earmarked for donating.
• Lots of (cash and non-cash) options: You can fund your DAF with assets of your choice, including cash, stock, securities, real estate, and even cryptocurrency. Giving via DAF can be a tax-smart strategy for gifting appreciated stocks.
