Support Elevate Oakland's East Oakland Vocal Program
The East Oakland Vocal Program is a growing network of youth choir and vocal performance programs serving middle and high school students across Deep East Oakland. Led by professional teaching artists and rooted in culturally responsive music education, the program provides students with opportunities to develop their vocal skills, explore diverse musical traditions, and build confidence as performers and leaders.
Students in the program participate in regular rehearsals, collaborative performances, and mentorship opportunities that connect them to Oakland’s rich musical legacy. The program currently supports choirs at multiple Oakland Unified School District schools and creates pathways for students to continue their musical journey from middle school through high school and beyond.

Join Us at the 2026 Vocal Festival
A centerpiece of this work is the East Oakland Vocal Festival, an annual celebration that brings together student choirs from across Oakland for a day of performances, community connection, and cultural exchange. Now in its fourth year, the festival highlights the power of youth voices while creating a joyful gathering space for families, educators, artists, and community partners.
The 2026 East Oakland Vocal Festival will take place on April 30 at Castlemont High School and will feature performances from youth choirs across the city along with a community Block Party that connects local organizations, artists, and resources with families and students.
Your support helps make this work possible. Donations directly support teaching artists, student performances, rehearsal resources, transportation, and opportunities for young people to experience the transformative power of music.
Together, we are uplifting the next generation of Oakland artists and honoring the deep musical traditions that continue to shape our community.
