Behind the colorful banners, music, and laughter of every Renaissance festival is a hardworking community of performers, artisans, and crew who bring the magic to life. They travel from show to show, building stages, crafting wares, and entertaining crowds—often without the safety nets most of us take for granted.

That’s where RESCU steps in.

Renaissance Entertainers, Services, Crafters United (RESCU) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of the Renaissance festival community nationwide.

When illness or injury strikes, RESCU provides:

• Financial assistance for medical emergencies, from hospital stays to critical treatments.

• Advocacy & guidance to help participants navigate complex medical bills and negotiate affordable care.

• Preventative health programs—including CPR certification, Stop the Bleed, Active Attacker, and Narcan training; so festivals are safer for everyone.

• On-site resources like health fairs, first aid kit giveaways, and AED units traveling to multiple festivals each year.

• Mental health support through partnerships such as free access to online therapy for those in need.

Since 2003, RESCU has distributed over $2 million in aid, changing hundreds of lives. But the impact isn’t only in the numbers, it’s in the stories of recovery, the artisans back on their feet, and the performers who can keep doing what they love because their community has their back.

RESCU is volunteer-run and powered by donations. Every dollar raised helps us ensure the community has access to medical care, emergency assistance, and preventative programs that keep the faire community healthy and thriving.
