The Diabetes Family Connection (DFC) not only offers the largest residential diabetes summer camp in North Carolina but also provides individuals with type one diabetes (T1D) and their families access to a vibrant, life-long community. Unlike other organizations, we go beyond just providing a summer camp experience. Through a diverse range of year-round recreation-based programs, we focus on building confidence, nurturing a positive mental attitude (PMA), and fostering a deep sense of belonging among our members. Our holistic approach ensures that individuals affected by T1D have ongoing support, resources, and opportunities for growth and connection regardless of their ability to pay, creating a lasting impact on their lives.
