The future of 37 young learners at the only Montessori school serving South Dallas/Fair Park is in our hands. Lion of JudahMontessori School is facing a funding shortfall due to the expiration of a major grant. We are appealing to the community for support while awaiting the approval of new funding applications.

Located on Malcolm X Blvd near Martin Luther King Blvd, Lion of Judah is in zip code 75215, one of the lowest-income areas of Dallas. With a poverty rate of 28% and a median household income of $32,077, South Dallas/Fair Park faces significant disparities in educational resources. Lion of Judah Montessori fills a critical need, providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. Ninety-five percent of the student body comes from low-income, African American households.

"Children in our community deserve to have access to a superb education, and we are determined to give our children a better chance at success," said Nekeya Webster, Lion of Judah Montessori Head of School. "Children who came here just a few months ago with no level of discipline now are leaders and nurturers, and we’re committed to remaining open to continue nurturing strong community leaders."

Established in 2023, Lion of Judah Montessori School provides a nurturing and enriching environment for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old. The school began with two students and has grown to 37 students in a little over a year. Lion of Judah integrates the Montessori educational approach with Christian values. This unique blend fosters a nurturing environment where young learners can thrive academically and develop a strong moral compass.
