Help support our Project Color Corps Bay Area Chapter! We are fundraising $25,000 to fund TWO exciting projects taking shape here in Oakland this Fall 2025:

Horace Mann Elementary School, Oakland, CA

PCC has been invited to collaborate with Horace Mann Elementary on a powerful and holistic transformation that will lead with new mural framing the playspace wall, with design elements that will continue across the modular classroom and corridor walls. We are honored to partner with Guest Designer, Michael Mabry, on this design transformation!

Community Demographics:

~Horace Mann Elementary serves students in the TK-5th grade

~The total student population is 192 students

~ Majority of students identify as BIPOC and 99% quality for free and reduced lunch 

Oakland Unity Middle School, Oakland, CA

PCC will be partnering with Oakland Unity Middle School (OUMS) and Guest Artist, Fernanda Martinez, on (4) exterior mural transformations for Unity's campus. Unity Middle is located in the most stressful neighborhood of East Oakland. Students have outperformed the California state averages in both ELA and Math. Ranked #1 East Oakland Middle School and Highest Math Growth in Oakland in 2023!

Community Demographics:

~90% Unduplicated Pupils (these students meet specific criteria like: eligible for free or reduced-price meals, being an English learner, or being foster youth)

~87% FRL (Free & Reduced Lunch)

~20% Students with Special Needs

100% kids of color: 70% Latinx, 15% Black/African American, 15% North African/Middle Eastern
